Vintage Week Festival
Taking place from July 29th - August 6th, Vintage Week and Arts Festival is a special time for the community of Birr, who come together to celebrate and honour the town's rich culture and Georgian heritage.
First held in 1968, the festival has gained national recognition for being a unique historical, cultural and community-focused celebration. A favourite among locals and returning residents, Vintage Week is a must-see event during the summer months.
Slieve Bloom Mountain Bike Trail
This network of purpose-built singletrack trails and forest roads take riders through beautiful forests and open land with fantastic views over Kinnity Castle and beyond.
Depending on your skill level, riders can choose from three different routes which involve forest road climbs and twisty singletrack with lots of fast descents and technical rocky bits.
Birr Equestrian Centre
Open seven days a week, the Birr Equestrian Centre offers a wide range of horse riding lessons, cross-country treks and tuition for families, friends and corporate event days.
Visitors can enjoy half-day and full-day trekking in the Slieve Bloom Mountains while other activities such as archery and laser shooting will ensure every member of the family enjoys their time at the A.I.R.E and Fáilte Ireland approved centre.

Birr Theatre & Arts Centre
This purpose-built theatre provides a base for year-round development of the arts in Birr as well as the wider region beyond Co. Offaly.
Dating from 1888, this Victorian theatre seats 220 people and was restored and refurbished after falling into disrepair during the 1980s and 1990s. The jam-packed programme of events at Birr Theatre includes film, dance, comedy, theatre and various musical events and concerts.
